The Clayton County Board of Commissioners fired the county's auditors Tuesday night, several months after receiving criticism from the company. The commission voted 4-1 to hire Mauldin & Jenkins Certified Public Accountants to audit the county's finances for the next four years at about $180,000 a year. They replace KPMG, which has audited the county for five years.
